Sunday walk with friends along riverside in snowy London yesterday. Browsed in one-off interiors shop in Battersea village and bought decorative ladder for friend whose mother used a ladder she had once treasured, for the hens. Managed to get back by train in the evening even though many were cancelled and people left stranded. Relief to get in to the warm and quite reluctant this morning to have to come out again. Was greeted by picturesque Cambridge scenes, lanes and trees draped in white.
