Where has summer gone?

Socks and cardigan donned, tiniest harvest of runner beans and French beans cooked and eaten, and flowerless mountain cornflower  (bought in sale) planted in newly-cleared front garden.  Feeling very autumnal which means blackberries might soon be ripe and days will draw in.

Mallorca

Wonderful novelty of feeling sunshine for first time in many months. That was last month, now in the middle of a heatwave, novelty beginning to wane.  Eur7 hand-held fan best thing I've ever bought.

Far too good for pigeons

Cathartic cutting back of lavender on grand scale this morning, enjoying the sunshine. Sky blackened around me as sleet began falling, followed by full blown snow.
